I started working at 15. I have been a performer, a speaker, a salesperson, a district manager, a trainer, a radio talk show host, a caterer and event planner, an entrepreneur, a creator and a mom. My greatest accomplishment in life is being a mom.
Oh! My kids weren’t easy or perfect, still aren’t but, they are good, kindhearted, respectful people. I love who they are. We still talk and I still listen and I still hope my neighbors are watching, even if they are in their 20's. I hope one day my kids will say, “I have a great Mom”, one who took the time to talk to us and to listen, even if she didn’t like what we said, one who cared enough to teach us respect and empathy and selflessness and one day pass that on to our children.
And so, life goes on…through the births and deaths, of young and old and through the suicide of a 13 year old nephew, who took his own life because he was bullied.
But, I remain a mom, happy and well balanced and full of compassion and empathy and respect for all people. I only want the same for you, that one day your children will say, “I had a great Mom and a great Dad and a great community of support” and I am glad to be who I am for I am happy! What an accomplishment that would be for all of us.
